Essex Woman Exhibition Poster

Paul Robinson Gallery, London Road, Westcliff-on-Sea, 1 June 2017

A collaborative project with Emma Mills, Anna B. Sexton, and Laurence Harding, exploring the terms “Essex Girl” and “Essex Women” through historical archives and contemporary photographs. The project included a pop-up photo studio in Southend High Street, where local women engaged in conversations about the label “Essex Girl.” Comments were recorded, and modern-day portraits were taken by Laurence Harding. These works, combined with archival material, were exhibited as individual and collaborative pieces at the Paul Robinson Gallery. This body of work was later re-edited and exhibited in the ongoing This Is What An Essex Girl Looks Like exhibition at the Beecroft Gallery.
